"Oh What A Night" is just what real soul shoul sound like :)
Almeta Lattimore is a former Aretha Franklin backing singer.
"Close the Door" was used in the film 'Soup for One', where Pendergrass had a small role. It was also heavily sampled by old skool rappers.
"Float On" came to life in Detroit and to co-writer James Mitchell in a dream. One night, he woke up with all the chords in his head, as well as the break where each singer announces his sign and woman.
"Tonight Is The Night" was originally released in 1974 but became a bigger hit in 1993 when it was released again after the succes of "Knockin' Boots" by Candyman.
Mary Jane Girls started as a backup group for Rick James. "All Night Long" has been sampled by everyone from Big Daddy Kane to Mary J. Blige.
Dori Grayson was a Southern Soul singer with very interesting powerful voice.
Gene Chandler dubbed himself 'The Duke of Earl' due to his song.
